The Spa Guide: Calcot Manor & Spa

The Spa Guide: Calcot Manor & Spa

Tucked away in the rolling Cotswolds countryside, Calcot Manor & Spa is the kind of place that immediately slows your pace the moment you arrive. As you wind up the tree-lined driveway, there’s an unmistakable sense of calm that settles in, setting the tone for what becomes a truly restorative stay.

From the outset, the welcome is warm and seamless. You’re greeted by the team and gently ushered into the house, where the atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between refined and relaxed. The decor is something to write home about, i couldn't stop taking pictures of every wall and corner.

The Food

Dining is a highlight and one not to miss, be sure to book into the brasserie for dinner. The chateaubriand is a standout dish, perfectly cooked and ideal for sharing, and pairs beautifully with a good bottle of red (ask the team for their recommendation, they won’t steer you wrong). The setting feels intimate yet unpretentious, making it just as suited to a celebratory meal as it is to a slow, indulgent evening.

The Spa

The spa is central to that experience. I opted for a full body massage, and within minutes, the tension I’d been carrying in my shoulders melted away. It’s the kind of treatment that leaves you feeling genuinely reset. Afterwards, i spent time in the pool and the outdoor hot tub, the atmosphere was lovely. Really informal and friendly, the reset garden is a definitely worth a visit - try the circuit from the sauna to the ice plunge - it will definitely wake you up! The treatment menu caters for everyone from facials, to body treatments to nails, just sad i didn't have time to book in for more.

The Grounds

The grounds are equally enchanting, we did a large walk when we arrived to get our bearings. When you check in, guests are given a map of the surrounding walks, which wind through beautiful countryside and offer the chance to spot local wildlife along the way. It’s a simple but lovely touch that encourages you to fully immerse yourself in the setting.

The Rooms

We stayed in the Barnsley accommodation, which felt both private and thoughtfully designed, blending rustic charm with modern comfort. The little details here make it super special, from the freshly baked sourdough, homemade shortbread for you to the 100 Acres cosmetics. Our room also featured a small kitchen area, adding an extra layer of comfort and flexibility. It's also a really great place to take children, in our room the kids had their own room complete with bedtime stories and a Tonies machine.

Calcot & Spa is more than just a hotel; it’s an experience designed to restore and delight in equal measure. Whether for a romantic escape, a mini-moon, or simply a break from the everyday, it delivers exactly what you hope for, and then some.
